New York with Jess

Its a beautiful day when he opens the door onto Central Park, there are ducks in the pond and he grins,

"I think we'll start with a picnic and then I'll show you my favorite places in the city."

"She can look however she wants so yes."

"Must be pretty handy when you want to literally hide from the crowd," Jess says, thoughtfully.

She would have killed (not really) for a power like that in high school.

She's a lot better about confrontations now. Well, mostly.

"It is but she's always preferred to stand out in a crowd and she knows how to do it. I prefer to listen until I feel safe."

[singsometimes]

"So you two really balance each other out, then, huh?"

Jess nibbles at her sandwich and chews thoughtfully for a moment.

"Man, I've always secretly kind of wished I had a sibling. Not that my childhood was bad or lacking in any way, especially since Cece is kind of like my sister from another mother - but it might have been different if I had a brother or something, you know?"

He shifts to truly look in her face and taps her nose,

"You have your roommates, four brothers in one go."

[singsometimes]

Jess scrunches her nose and laughs a little.

"Well - yeah, I guess that's true. We do call each other 'family'."

Well, she does, anyway.

(But they'll catch on.)

He kisses her lightly on the lips, "They will just as I'll show all the mutants I'm working with that we're more than allies."

[ooc: No worries; haha for some reason that didn't even occur to me as a mistake. Oops. I can also count! Yep.]


Mm.

Charles-kisses are the best kisses.

"Well, it sounds like your issue is a whole lot bigger than mine," she says. "But yeah. We all need family in some way or another. And the mutants sound like they could use knowing someone's got their back.

"And by the way? I really want you and my roomies to meet one day. A couple of them might embarrass themselves by pretending not to nerd out over who you are and then totally nerd out anyway - but ... either way, I know you guys would all get along."

"I'd like to meet them. I think they'd be rather relaxing,"

Also he likes when people know his name and goes to kiss her again as that last one was far too short.

Is it making-out time?

Jess likes making-out time.

She leans into Charles, putting her sandwich down somewhere beside her (and hoping she won't accidentally smush it at a later time during this session) and reaches up to touch his face, tracing along his jaw.

All while having her mouth on his.

Making out time in Central Park is one of Charles' favorite times and he moves the sandwich to make certain its out of the way.

It is several moments later before Jess needs to come up for air and pulls away from Charles - but still maintaining close distance so her eyes are unfocused as she tilts her head up towards him.

She laughs softly.

"Amazing."

He nods with a very satisfied smile, "Mm, good."

[singsometimes]

She grins, straightening a little.

There's a question she's been meaning to ask but she's never really been good at segues.



Witnessing this, now:

"So ... is it fair to say that you're kind of ... my boyfriend?"

"Yes, I'd say it is and I'm going to show you more of my city as well as kissing you in other places in it."
