Between Oxford and DC

Since first meeting with Moira, the days have gone by quickly with little time to think or discuss what's happening.

He knows going with Moira to meet with the CIA is the right choice as they know of other mutants but there's not much time to plan or decide which worries him. His presentation's clear in his head, which makes it easy to know what to say but nothing about how it will be received.

Going back to America feels like the best choice and everything in the apartment will be sent on to Westchester, there are simply too many variables.

As they move from flat to airport to plane to car, he's constantly looking over to Raven and hoping they'll have some time to truly talk about what this means.

"Well, apparently they've been after him for who he is, and only just now found out what he is," Raven replies, keeping her voice soft.

She doesn't know how much they're being monitored, but she figures Charles would know if they are.

At the moment, not as much as they might be, the driver is thinking about the traffic and a baseball game,

"Yes, no one expected what she saw. Most of them don't fully believe her either. We're confirmation and a way to get closer to him."

"Do they even know where Shaw is right now, or is that what they're going to need you for?" she asks, glancing over at him.

She's not even sure how much the CIA knows about Charles' particular abilities.

"I think they might have some ideas, but I'm going to help with that and I hope more. Shaw is a way to find others like us,"

He wants to be able to put his skills to use as he knows there will be other mutants near Shaw. Though he knows that the CIA truly doesn't realize what he or Raven can do.

"But they don't know that this is why you've agreed to come and talk to them, is it?" Raven asks, smiling slyly.

Why, Charles, she thinks, directly at him and loud enough for him to hear, you're almost as sneaky as me.

He almost laughs aloud at her thought and kisses her cheek with a smirk as he says back,

"I do pride myself on being a good student."

This is beyond a degree.

If anything, she's proud of him. It means a little more of her is rubbing off.

I know, its all rather beyond.

Which is why he's willing to bend the truth, because this is what they've wanted.

Are you ready?

She looks over at him, wariness in her gaze.

For everything we might learn?

I feel like I am but I don't know what shape this will all take.

Its what he's been wanting, they've been wanting, to find others here in their world.

"I guess we'll see," she says, a soft whisper.

She clasps her hands together firmly in her lap, sighing as she glances straight ahead.

"That's all we can do for now,"

He wishes it were more, waiting and having so much be in the hands of others isn't ideal.
