The compartment isn't as elegant as the ones in Europe but it will do and Charles has found them a comfortable one to get north.

There's space enough for them both to stretch out and since its not a heavy time, they have a measure of privacy, and the club car's not far away.

Erik's smile turns languid and pleased at that, happy to hear that they've arrangements to aid them. "Well, then, here's to our little trip," he says, raising the glass in the air for Charles to toast. "And whatever trouble we might find."

Charles grins and raises his beer,

"Yes, to enjoyable trouble."

Sometimes, Erik thinks that Charles could never know true trouble, but the man has done things here and there that have Erik doubting such a belief. "Tell me," he says. "Have you ever been to such a club before?"

"Yes, at Oxford, I found it an educational trip because considering how often people daydream and think about sex. When confronted with opportunities, many of them end up rather boring,"

It was a fun night, but one he mainly watched and drank at with some flirting.

Erik raises his brow, refusing to let a comment like that merely pass his notice by. "Charles, you can hardly begin with that and not follow through," he chides. "What do people think about?"

"Everything, fantasies about the people around them, all sorts of ideas. When I was younger, I thought them odd until I understood then I blushed a good deal,"

He laughs and stretches out on the seat, sometimes the thoughts get tiring but he knows how to filter them out.

"So that means that people take those in their immediate surroundings into mind for their fantasies," Erik says, clipped and cool. He leans out into the hall slightly. "Tell me, then. What are those women in the opposite car thinking about you?"

Charles leans his hand against his cheek and listens,

"Oh, they're thinking more of you. I look too square though there's at least one speculation that I'm probably rich and possibly nice. Apparently the one in polka dots is wondering about my lips as she would like to kiss them. The woman in green would like to climb you. Apparently she's a dancer and rather flexible."

Erik raises his brow, peering out the window as if he's actually giving thought to serving as a tree to some woman's legs, but he dismisses it easily enough, turning his attention back to Charles. "Well, a shame for them my attention is already captivated, isn't it?"

The woman in green smiles at him as her friends smile as Charles grins,

"Yes, though I do agree with her sentiment."

It's enough to catch Erik's attention, drawing it back from the women. "You mean to say you think of mounting me like a tree?" he muses, rather interested in the visual that plays in his mind. "Let's never say you don't have excellent ideas, Charles."

"Mounting is an odd word, but, yes something like that,"

While taking a sip of his beer, he projects an image of him pressing Erik against a wall with a kiss, climbing him.

Reluctant as Erik is to give up control, Charles does paint quite the lovely picture into his mouth and he makes an assessing noise of mild delight, nodding his head as he drinks. "I believe such a thing could be arranged. Later, of course, after our work."

"Something to look forward to,"

The noise Erik makes is even more than Charles was hoping for and he looks smug.

He's more than happy to indulge, but the work of furthering their cause will always come first. "In this hotel that you've rented for us," he says. "Which begs the question; have you made provisions for a second if we are successful tonight?"

"Yes, I have, three rooms reserved with a late check-in to allow for her unusual working hours,"

He's tried to cover every eventuality.

"Three?" Erik echoes, pressing his lips together and wondering whether he had been too quick to assume that Charles would want to spend the evening together. "Well, then, I'm sure she'll be pleased to hear how thoughtful you were."

Charles thinks at Erik as he takes a sip of his drink.

Three, because it will cause fewer questions. Once upstairs, we'll be fine but this will keep us safe.

The point is taken and Erik nods his head in deference, remembering now that Charles cares what other people think, where to Erik, it is merely something he flicks away easily. "Well," he remarks aloud. "Then you had best hope you do well tonight, or I might feel inclined to sleep alone."

He raises an eyebrow at Erik's thoughts.

Its not what other people think, its more that I have no desire to spend time in jail. People aren't as relaxed here as they are in Europe.

"I hope you don't feel like that as I expect to have fun tonight."

Erik hardly cares what anyone thinks. "People can do whatever they like, but I'll make them think twice about questioning me," Erik says calmly, folding his hands in his lap once the beer is on the tray before him. "I would like to see them try and arrest me."

"Yes, I know you will and would be impressive to watch. I know you move but I don't think there will be a need for that,"

Erik's love of violence is going to end badly someday, because violence is hard to control.

Erik gives a sound that says it will remain to be seen, finishing off his beer and reclining back on the seat, trying to shake the tension loose that still resonates of being on a train. "I much prefer to fly or drive, you know. For next time."

"I'll remember that,"

He takes the last sips of his beer and shifts so his leg is just nudging Erik's.

The simplicity of the touch stuns Erik with how comforting it is and he closes his eyes, focusing on that rather than his memories. It also makes him wish they were not in public at the moment. "How long until we're there?"
