Talking to Diana

Charles is quickly acquiring a headache from the worries and plans about Lecter. Since he might be of use, he's not going to leave but he's not spending the day inside.

Instead he's been walking, once around the lake, following a path or two in the forest but not too deep since it reminds him of Slenderman.

After a while, he ends up sitting by the garden watching the back door and trying to find a solid even keel before he goes back in and faces whatever new has happened.

Charles winces at her thoughts on the name, "You're dealing with him too?"

"Not as such," Diana says, with a faint and wry smile that never reaches her eyes.

"Though I did make my opinions on his actions clear. Have you had a run-in?"

[balancingminds]

"Yes, when he first began coming here. It was unpleasant and I warned Guppy about him. Since then, my impressions have become a possible weapon in Security's arsenal against him. Also I'm certain I will be picking up more counseling duties after his ouster. I have done my best to avoid him as I don't want to satisfy his vanity in anyway,"

It doesn't feel like a great deal but he doesn't want a confrontation.

"No, I can't imagine that would make him less likely to do something terrible."

There's a flash of rage, quickly stifled.

"Might I ask what impressions you have had?"

"No, I don't expect it to but at the moment there aren't any paths I can see. That he enjoyed violence, has little understanding of empathy except in how to parrot it and is arrogant to a dangerous point. Yourself?"

He gestures to a seat beside him, its more pleasant than speaking standing up.

"He is an excellent manipulator, and over-proud killer, and he will do anything to those that trust him in order to see what happens next."

She'll sit in a moment.

"Yes and that is how he's probably done the most damage here if we can but prove it,"

It reminds him of a complicated scientific theory, there's lots of evidence but not enough to make it a law.

"Do you have any leads? Dr. Sandhu mentioned his patients, but that doesn't seem to have borne much fruit yet."

[balancingminds]

"The only one I have comes from a friend of mine who has a sensitive nose. She smelled cooked human on him when he entered."

[themysciran_diana]

"And that's not evidence enough?"

[balancingminds]

"I don't think so as if he didn't cook in Bar, it probably won't be enough. We need to find a way where he can do less damage. I fear what he's already done."

[themysciran_diana]

"I don't know that eating your own species is prohibited by the rules. Obtaining your meat here seems like it would fall under 'no violence', however."

She presses her lips together.

"But I can't say I want him to make any such attempts."

[balancingminds]

"No, I'd rather no one has to be harmed for him to be stopped, but I think he's probably already done damage with his consulting. A man like that should never have been given such a point of power."

[themysciran_diana]

"Men like that almost inevitably find their way to such points of power. It gives them the opportunity to do their work."

And the leverage to do it uninterrupted.

"Very true, he knows what he wants and finds it but I think we can deny him some of his prestige here."

[themysciran_diana]

"I'm not sure that will be enough, but it is what we have to try."

[balancingminds]

"I don't either but I think its what we can do for now,"

There should be more but he can't think of what else.

"If I find out more, rest assured I will keep everyone informed. Or if I can think of another path forward."

[balancingminds]

"As will I."

[themysciran_diana]

"Hera grant we all survive this one."

"Yes,"

It doesn't hurt to ask for help from everyone possible.

"I'll see you later, Charles?"

"Yes, I'm going to be around in case anyone needs me though outside more than inside,"

As he's certain that they will, but if he's outside, his head doesn't hurt as much.

"I'll keep a stronger eye on the inside, then. Fare well, Charles."

And Diana heads back inside.
